HOW ABOUT A GIFT OF AN HEIRLOOM?
Order now for graduation gifts.  One of "IN VOGUE LADIES" below is Mary McNeil, the girl playing volleyball.  Her parents emailed me pictures of her playing, and I created this piece for them to give her for graduating from Adams State.  This makes a wonderful gift that will be an heirloom.
"AN OFFERING"
My newest piece, "An Offering" is quite a bit different than my other pieces.  The image for her came into my head as soon as I woke up one morning.  I went to the studio, and immediately sketched her out.  I don't know if I had a dream or what happened.  The rods which make up the center portion of her skirt at the bottom are stainless steel.  The gift is inlaid Sleeping Beauty turquoise, from the Sleeping Beauty Mine in Globe, Arizona.  She is about 34 1/2" tall x 8 1/2" wide x 8 1/2" deep.  There is patina at her hair, face and skirt.  She has a five coat lacquer finish.  The base is of walnut, with a hand rubbed finish, and is sitting on a swivel platform. I was in a bit of a rush getting ready for the Carefree Fine Art and Wine Festival, and was only able to get the one picture listed here.  Other images to come later.

"ELEGANCE"
To date, I would have to say that this is my signature piece.  She is almost 5' tall, and 20
x 20".  The original was bought by Dianne, and I personally delivered her to her beautiful lake house in Minnesota.  The original was all of metal.  This is the first of an edition of thirty five.    My inspiration for her came from when I was 21 or so.  I was in Mexico with some friends and we passed through an area of extreme poverty.  Cardboard houses, tattered tarps for roofs.  Then I spotted her, wide brimmed hat, crisp muslin shirt, very old looking dress.  She had her hands folded in front of her, and she was keeping an eye on  about a dozen kids playing in the dusty dirt road.  I was so taken with the elegance of this lovely woman, that even today, the thought is as crisp in my mind as if she were standing right in front of me.

"BREAKIN' TO TIE"
Nugget, the donkey, was one my first pieces so I'm extremely proud of this one.   She is life size, made of barbed wire.  This wire came of a ranch in Roosevelt, Arizona.    She is also the wellspring for my studio name and logo "THE WELDED DONKEY".  The sculpture is 6'-1" tall x 5' wide x 4' deep.   The eyes are a polished stone "Apache Tear" which is found in Florence, Arizona.  It really gives the eye that depth that you see when you look into the eye of a horse.

"SERENITY"
One of my favorite pieces, "Serenity".  It is a little strange how she came to me.  I had told my wife, I was going to my studio to design something a little smaller than what I had been doing.  Fifteen minutes later, I had a complete sketch in my hand of Serenity.  She is all made from cold rolled steel rod.  She is about 24" tall x 8" wide x 12" deep.  There is 300 feet of rod in her.  There is no patina applied, and she has a five coat lacquer finish.  The base is of black mahogany, with a hand rubbed finish, and is sitting on a swivel base.

"PRESENCE"
The inspiration for Presence means a lot to me.  It was probably 29 years ago.  I was watching the morning news.  It was around Memphis I think.  They had had several tornadoes in the middle of the night that were truly devastating.  A gentleman was talking to a news reporter about the loss of his home, but the couple was allright. His wife stood there, looking so classy, and just beautiful.  She was wearing her night gown, and she had a big blue blanket wrapped around her.  I just couldn't help but think that this poor woman had just suffered this great loss, and she looked as if she was ready to take people in, and entertain them.
Presence is about 25" tall x 6" wide x 6" deep.  Her blanket is made of cold rolled steel rod.  There is hot applied patina at her face, hands and blanket.  The blue of the blanket is a very translucent colored patina, to get this brilliant shade of blue was around twenty coats.  She has a five coat lacquer finish.  The base is of black mahogany, with a hand rubbed finish, and is sitting on a swivel base.  Presence is also available in bronze (shown below on bottom row) in a limited edition of 35.  Number one is sold.  To get pricing on her, please contact me.
