This is a sculpture I did for North Canyon High School. Their mascot is a rattlesnake, they're called "The Rattlers". The senior class of 2008 wanted a sculpture of a coiled rattlesnake for their class gift. I came up with the design, a snake winding through their school initials. This is a lot more sculpture than expected for the same price. I looked at it as a great opportunity to get my work noticed. In this sculpture the letters are 12" square, making the whole thing about 5'-4" tall with the base. It is all welded 12 ga. sheet steel, which is about an eighth of an inch thick. It weighs a little over 200 pounds.
The following is a 12' tall saguaro cactus I was commissioned to sculpt for Saguaro High School. It is made of 3/4" sq. tubing, installed on the diagonal. It was then rusted, and sealed with a 3 coat lacquer finish. It is proudly displayed in their amphitheater, which is in the courtyard between all their buildings.
